Amy Singh – General Manager’s Biography
Hi, my name is Amy Singh and I am co owner and General Manager of Biryani Indian Restaurant. Many people ask me, how did you come to be involved with an Indian Restaurant? It was actually very easy… I married a wonderful Indian chef that enjoys making people happy with his food! The next question is usually… How did you meet him? I lived in a small apartment behind an Indian restaurant in Oakland while I was going to The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. I met Billu but thought he was too old for me! A whoping 6 year difference. As time went on, Billu and I had our first date. He brought tandoori chicken to my apartment and we had dinner. The chicken was delicious but it was his Veggie Biryani that made me fall in love with him. Well, maybe his kind heart, good looks and overall being a great guy had something to do with it too. After 15 years of marriage, we have 2 beautiful daughters and a restaurant that is our life and part of our family. Our goal is to combine the authentic Indian cuisine that Billu loves to make with an American flare to represent who our family is. Come into Biryani and see how you too can become an integral part of the Biryani family.
